Johnny with shadow.

    Sometimes the shadow cast is more interesting than the actual object. 
The strong afternoon sunlight made this artwork.   I was the the johnny-on-the-spot with camera in hand. 

Nuthin’ but squares.

  
I look up from my study and stare through the glass blocks above my desk. 

I see nothing but squares. Too much study and not enough fun. 

Variation on a theme

I only had a couple of minutes to take this picture. The intense afternoon light casts this sharp shadow only too briefly. Chiaroscuro combining man made and nature and… curves.
Perfect for my sensibilities and that’s why there are so many variations on this theme.

Green shadows.

We’ve come into the possession of a large fat bottomed green glass bottle.
It was placed in a position where it is clearly visible but luckily where it can catch the afternoon light.
It didn’t take long before I noticed the exquisite shadow play on the wall.

In my pocket.

 

We love glass sculpture. So when I went searching for a present for Martha, I went to my favourite retail artists studio in Glebe.
My eye was drawn to these beautiful sculptures flying on the wall.
They were beyond my budget at the time but I did the next best thing…
They are in my pocket all the time.
