Blue balls of cool

cool water beads

There is no Photoshop trickery here.  These blue balls of cool are actually used to keep cut flowers in a vase.

They come as really small beads but when allowed contact with water, they swell up to form these rubbery balls.  They remind me of marbles we used to play with as kids.

Anyway, recognising their inherent beauty, I put them in a glass dish, then placed it on my light box for picture-taking.

And that’s it.  The glass dish adds some dimensional lines to enhance the abstract nature of the artwork.
