Years ago I used oil crayons in a technique known as sgraffito. Basically I overlaid layers of crayon and then scratched out designs, leaving interesting colours breaking through the top layer.
I’ve got loads of these sgraffito paintings and started to digitize a few. This is one of them. The original is quite small less than A4 in size.
After scanning, they can be printed bigger, and presents the opportunity to paint over the original idea.
This is would be like re-inventing the past… and I’ve got a lot of the past to re-invent.
